Courses available KU offers many courses in English in various disciplines at the
undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and the number is
increasing every year. Please note that it is not guaranteed
that the same courses are offered every year but normally
there are only minor changes. It is important that you ensure
that your intended courses will be offered in your registered
semester. The list of courses offered in English will is updated
and available for you to check online in January for spring
semester and in July for fall semester on
(http://sugang.korea.ac.kr > English > Major Subject (or
General Subject)).
For further details, please check the Campus Life > Academics
> Courses
Courses conducted in English will indicate in brackets, English.
Please move the scroll bar so that you can see what courses
are open to students. Courses marked under ‘X’ are open to
exchange students.
Course lists for the upcoming year will be published in July.
Credit-bearing Korean language courses are offered during
the regular semesters. There are 6 different levels from
beginner to advanced.
For those who wish to take Korean language classes, no prior
knowledge of the Korean language is required but the
placement test is mandatory. It will be held on the first day of
the class.
Korea recommends that students refer to the course list from
the previous year. For example if you are going in fall 2019 you
could refer to the fall 2018 course list. There may be small
changes but they are likely to remain the same.
Course enrolment Incoming advisors will contact students by email about the
guidelines for the online course registration process.
Academic restrictions There is high demand for some areas of the course. Especially
in business and management. This means students must be
aware that it may be very difficult to register for business and
management courses of their first choices and that there will
be no guarantee for their preferred choices.
Subjects not available to exchange students: medicine,
nursing, law, information security and ALL graduate programs
at the business school.
Your final course selection must be agreed and approved with your Exchange
Coordinator and any course changes made whilst you are away must have
their approval.
