Reimbursement Guidelines for Internal Medicine Residents The program will cover: - MKSAP 19 Digital for categorical and PSTP residents (max $494) o This is the cost if the ACP membership is purchased (membership cost not covered) - 90-day Uworld subscription for preliminary interns (max $400) - Rideshares (uber, lyft) for WakeMed night rotations (no max); will also cover any rideshare for a resident who is fatigued after any night shift after main campus and feels (or is deemed by another resident or faculty member) to be unsafe to drive home. - Poster printing costs for Resident Research Day and/or conference presentations (no max) - [Some] conference expenses (for which residents are presenting work) - see below for parameters: st nd o 1 & 2 conferences: up to $750 o 3rd+ conferences: up to $300 o Type of expenses covered: ▪ Registration ▪ Flight ▪ Lodging 1 night (night before presentation) ▪ Rideshares ▪ Parking o Note: conference allocations listed above are per year of residency (they reset at the start of the new academic year) - Research/publication submission fees (up to $300) Note about Global Health rotations: All residents must submit a request for scholarship funding through the Office Global Health and Education. The Department will cover up to $2,000 of uncovered costs if no scholarship is granted for one 4-week, approved, Global health rotation. This funding is meant to cover the cost of travel and lodging if needed. Residents will continue to receive their salary during this time. The program does not cover: - Medical Board renewal costs - Medical Board exam costs - ACP membership costs
