POLICY: eCW TUMC & eCW TUMG Failed Notes for General
Internal Medicine
eCW TUMC & eCW TUMG Failed Notes for General Internal Medicine should be
handled in the following manner:
1. Printed notes are received from Charlotte (who receives them from Sabrina)
and distributed to the Coders.
2. Coder will check to make sure the correct Provider has electronically signed
the note and that there is an attestation statement if appropriate. If not, the
query process should be followed at this point.
3. Coder will check IDX to see if the patient is new or established with General
Internal Medicine.
4. CPT Code (and Diagnosis Code(s) if not already on the patient face sheet) are
both written on the patient face sheet and given back to Sabrina.
