The TNPSC Group 1 syllabus and exam pattern has been released by the TNPSC to guide the students
in their preparation of TNPSC Group 1 exam 2020. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC)
has released the dates for the application and exam of TNPSC Group 1. The TNPSC Group 1 exam is
conducted to fill the posts of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Collec-
tor, District Officer, and such. This year, approximately 69 posts are vacant in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The TNPSC Group 1 syllabus 2020 pdf was also released along with the exam dates and other infor-
mation. The TNPSC Group 1 exam was to be held on April 25, 2020, but it has been postponed as of
now. The syllabus is based on degree level course that is the minimum qualification for the posts under
TNPSC Group 1 exam. The exam is divided into three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview. The TNPSC
Group 1 syllabus 2020 is detailed for both the written tests.

The selection process is divided into three steps:
1. Prelims Exam
2. Written Exam and
3. Interview
The TNPSC Group 1 syllabus 2020 is given below with details for the Prelims exam and Mains exam
separately.
TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Syllabus
The exam has three sections: General Studies, Mental Ability, and General English or Tamil. The
TNPSC Group 1 syllabus is set on the same level as the degree course. A Bachelor's degree is the mini-
mum qualification for any of the posts under the Combined Civil Services Exam-1. The best reference to
prepare for these subjects is the state board books for classes 6th to 12th.
