    Academic:  To promote through professional development and practice, a deeper 
    understanding among educators of the critical connections between close reading, 
    comprehension and writing. 
      Action Step 1: Implement a building based Writing Vertical Alignment team to develop a 
      comprehensive map of writing skills and strategies that are identified markers within our 
      writing lessons and are linked to new or identified lessons within the NPS Writing Units 
      of Study K-4 for Narrative, Informational, and Opinion writing. 
     
    Wellness Goal: Educators will implement classroom energizers in their daily routines.  Student 
    brain breaks and energizers will increase activity time in the classroom and increased academic 
    engagement.  Energizers breaks (2-3 min) will assist student wellness and focus during 
    instruction.   
     
    Family Engagement: Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all 
    staff through continued effective partnerships with families, community organizations, and 
    other stakeholders that support the mission of the school and district
