Introduction
The Programming and Debug Tools stand-alone software is intended for laboratory and production environments

where Libero SoC Design Suite is not installed. The installer allows you to install the following tools:

• FlashPro Express programming software for Windows and Linux
™
® ® ®
• SmartDebug device debug tool for PolarFire SoC, PolarFire, SmartFusion 2, IGLOO 2 and RTG4
• Job Manager for Secured Production Programming Solution
Note: Libero SoC Design Suite includes FlashPro Express programming software, Job Manager and SmartDebug by
default.

Important: Administrative privileges are required for installing or configuring the Programming and Debug
Tools v2022.2 software on the Windows operating system.
System Requirements
This section provides information on supported operating systems, system memory requirements, and other
recommendations.
Supported Operating Systems
Libero SoC Design Suite supports the following 64-bit operating systems.
• Microsoft Windows Professional/Enterprise 10.0
• Red Hat Enterprise Workstation/Server 7.2 - 7.9, and 8.2
• CentOS 7.2 - 7.9, and 8.2
• OpenSUSE Leap 42.3 (SLES 12.3 equivalent)
• Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 20.04.3 LTS
Note: Siemens ModelSim Pro does not directly support the Ubuntu platform. FlashPro5 programmer is not
supported with Ubuntu
For information on operating systems that are not supported, see PDN20028 and PDN21004
System Memory Recommendations
A minimum of 16 GB of Random-Access Memory (RAM) is recommended.

This section contains information about new features, new devices, and enhancements introduced in the
Programming and Debug Tools v2022.2.
1.1 New Device Support
Programming and Debug Tools v2022.2 supports IGLOO2, SmartFusion2, RTG4, PolarFire, and PolarFire SoC
families.
1.1.1 Programming and SmartDebug
Libero SoC v2022.2 introduces:
• Programming support for the MPFS160T/TS/TL/TLS PolarFire SoC devices.
• Programming and SmartDebug support for the MPF050T/TS/TL/TLS PolarFire devices.
1.2 Software Features and Enhancements
Programming and Debugging Tools v2022.2 includes the following new features and enhancements.
1.2.1 SPI Flash Programming Enhancements
Added support for the new SPI-Flash device IS25LP128 from ISSI vendor.
