       The UWA Fogarty Foundation 
       Scholarship Program
       The UWA Fogarty Scholarship Program aims to strengthen our community by 
       investing in exceptional young people who use their skills and commitment to 
       lead positive change in our community, state and nation.
       Established in 2004, the UWA Fogarty Scholarship Program is one of 
       Australia’s premier scholarship programs. The scholarship is a joint initiative 
       between the Fogarty Foundation and The University of Western Australia, to 
       award WA’s brightest and most committed students’ scholarships for the 
       entirety of their university degree. 
       The program connects scholars with local and international leaders, to 
       provide Scholars and Alumni leadership opportunities, supported through 
       comprehensive academic scholarships, academic mentoring, career and 
       personal enrichment engagements and paramount to the program is a 
       strong network of likeminded young leaders.
       10 new scholarships are awarded each year to students who study across 
       a range of disciplines. UWA Fogarty Undergraduate Scholars who choose 
       to continue their postgraduate study at UWA are also supported in their 
       further studies. 
       The scholarships include a tailored leadership program for the Scholar’s 
       entire university degree that focuses on developing transformative leadership 
       skills in each of the Scholars. The leadership program is a key element of the 
       scholarships, where Scholars learn from, and have access to, a network of 
       leaders, gain some insight into how our community works and hopefully the 
       awareness of how they can make a contribution now and in the future.
       In 2019 we have 58 Scholars and 90 Alumni who are studying, working and 
       making a contribution in WA and around the world.
             The UWA Fogarty Foundation  
             Leadership Program
             The Fogarty Foundation and The University of Western Australia view leadership 
             as an integral factor in building strong communities.
             UWA Fogarty Scholars participate in a tailored Leadership Program that provides 
             Scholars and Alumni with an excellent opportunity to learn from today’s leaders.
             The Leadership Program expands Scholars’ horizons by initiating opportunities 
             for the Scholars to learn from, and have access to, a network of leaders, gain 
             insight into how our community works and how they can positively make 
             a  contribution.
             The UWA Fogarty Scholars study across a range of disciplines and as they 
             graduate they become members of the UWA Fogarty Scholars Alumni. The 
             alumni is a network of talented and motivated young people working in a 
             variety of professions that will provide ongoing support and affinity between the 
             Scholars as they evolve into their individual roles within the community.
