                                WORK EXPERIENCE 2019 - APPLICATION PACKAGE
            Dear Parent / Guardian,
            Mansfield State High School will offer Work Experience in 2019 to Year 10 - 12 students.  Work Experience
            familiarises students with working conditions and employer expectations. In addition, it offers students the
            opportunity to sample a specific type of work, and also promotes personal and social development.
            The conditions of Work Experience for Mansfield SHS students are based on The Education (Work
            Experience) Act 1996, which stipulates students:
                    are 14 years and over;
                    receive no payment in money or kind;
                    work 5 days during normal working hours for the industry;
                    are covered by Workers Compensation; and
                    employers are covered by an indemnity policy taken out by Education Queensland
                     (refer to attached information).

            The program is offered only within the supplied dates, unless under exceptional circumstances (to be
            discussed with Ms Hixon in the Lower Administration Block).
            If you would like to participate in the Mansfield SHS work experience program, please return the fully
            completed and signed forms below, to Ms Hixon or the Student Engagement Officer in the Lower Admin
            Office by the above due date:
                    Completed and signed Mansfield SHS Permission Form;
                    DET “Work Experience Placements for School Students” Agreement form - Note: this must be 
                       fully completed and signed by student, parent/guardian, and the Work Experience Provider) – we 
                       will then arrange the Principal’s Agreement and signature).
