Guide for Creating Project Plan Task - Each phase should achieve a specific deliverable (tangible output) or milestone that progresses the overall project - Work back from these deliverables and milestones to identify high-level activities that will serve as your roadmap (or plan) to achieve them - Plans are usually divided into phases that assist in categorizing and organizing project activities, deliverables and milestones Duration / Work Effort - The total (estimated) time it takes to complete each task measured in days, weeks or months - Milestones are given a duration of '0' because they signify an important point in the schedule, typically the start and finish of a phase; they are used to more accurately estimate the time it will take to complete the project Resources - An estimate of the number and the type of resources that will be required to execute an individual task |
