About Mrs. Foreman
        Have a husband, 2 sons, and 1 German 
          Shepherd.
        I was born in Germany because my dad was in 
          the U.S. Army.
        I have done other jobs, but I am an excellent 
          science teacher. You will learn a lot.
        I enjoy working with students.
        You will enjoy working with me.
        I love science, and that is why I teach this class.
       One BIG rule: Ask!
       I’m not sure if I can try water from a 
         puddle instead of from the sink for the 
         experiment – ASK!
       I’m not sure what to do about that late 
         assignment that’s still in my backpack – 
         ASK!
       I’m worried that I won’t be ready for the 
         project deadline – ASK!
     What is this class?
      8th grade science is mostly physical 
       science, that includes chemistry and 
       physics. 
      Chemistry = chemicals and how they work
      physics = forces and motion
      We also study stars and the universe, and 
       how weather works.
     Groups
      The class will count off – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
      The ones will form a group.
      The twos will form a group … you get 
       the idea.
      You do not need to take anything with 
       you – just get with your group.
     Assignment
      You need to think about yourself – your 
       personality and interests.
      You need to make up a hand gesture 
       that tells something about you.
      If you have trouble coming up with an 
       idea, ask your group to help.
      Go around the group and learn each 
       other’s first names and hand gestures.
