DADWAVERS for
descriptive writing

What might the character be saying?
What atmosphere would you want to create in this scene?
There are many ways you can use DADWAVERS to
write descriptively.
DAD – initially, you can just follow the pattern of
descriptive, action, dialogue and repeat.
Using
DADWAV – moving onto description, action,
DADWAV dialogue, where, adverb, verb.
ERS DADWAVERS – follow the sequence in order
before repeating for the next part of your writing.
Final Stage – use the Mnemonic in any order you
choose.
