- SDGs are intergovernmentally negotiated, and owned by countries
- Many countries will use the SDGs as the main reference to prepare
new national SD commitments and plans
- Countries will look to international community for coordinated and
integrated policy support
- FAO’s perspectives are strongly represented
- Internal and external initiatives are already in place to help FAO to
play its role
- UN System gets ready for immediate implementation after Post-
2015 Summit in September
