                                                                                                                                                                                                       AMENDMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS, 2016 The Minister for
                                                                                                                                                                                                       the Public Service and Administration, acting under section 41 of the Public
                                                                                                                                                                                                       Service Act, 1994 (promulgated under Proclamation No. 103 of 1994), intends to
                                                                                                                                                                                                       amend the Public Service Regulations, 2016 (promulgated under Government
                                                                                                                                                                                                         Notice No. R. 877 of 29 July 2016), as set out in the Schedule.
                                                                                                                                                                                                         Interested persons are invited to submit any substantiated comments or
                                                                                                                                                                                                       representations on the proposed amendments to the Department of Public
                                                                                                                                                                                                       Service and Administration (For the attention of the Director General, Private Bag

                                                                      SCHEDULE
                                1.       In   this Schedule "the Regulations" means the Public Service
                         Regulations, 2016 published in Government Notice No. R. 877 of 29 July 2016.
                                2.       Regulation 66 of the Regulations is hereby amended -
                                         (a)      by the substitution in subregulation (1) for paragraph (a) of
                                                 the following paragraph: " (a)              an appointment in terms of
                                                 section 9 of the Act for [ -i] the term of office                       of the
                                                  incumbent executive authority or Deputy Minister which will
                                                 terminate at the end of the first month after the month which
                                                 the term of that executive authority or Deputy Minister
                                                 terminates for any reason; [or
                                                 (ii) a period not exceeding three years;] "; and
                        (b)     by the addition of the following subregulation:

                                                       (4)        Any employee, who at the time of the coming into effect of
                               the amendment to the Regulations, 2018, is employed in terms of regulation
                                66(1)(a) of the Regulations, shall not be transferred for the period of their
                                employment, to another post within the department or outside the executive
                                authority or Deputy Minister's office..
