READING JOURNAL INSTRUCTIONS 
        These reading journals will assist your group in discussing your book in 
        literature circles. You must have a journal for each reading assignment. You 
        will need a minimum of five journals. Each entry must contain two or three 
        quotations and responses to the quotation and at least two of the following 
        elements. Each element can only be used two times in your journal. 
              1. A vocabulary word, defined, with a sentence 
              illustrating its use. 
              2. A drawing of a significant scene in that day’s 
              reading. 
              3. Two good discussion questions for your group to 
              discuss 
              4. A bit of research over some topic in that day’s 
              reading. 
              5. A connection between something in your reading 
              and another piece of literature, history, personal 
              experience. 
        At the top of each page, please put your name, the title of the book, the 
        author’s name, the page you are on, and the number of the entry for your 
        book.
